WIN THIS: A Copy of The Documentary Film, "Soulmate"
My beloved sisterpreneur, Filmmaker Andrea Wiley, is doing big things since winning accolades around the country for her documentary film Soulmate. It is an honest look into the lives of successful and single African American women who, whether by choice or circumstance, are not married. And tonight, clips of the film were featured in Rehema Ellis' Redefining Black Relationships report on NBC News, as part of their five-part series, African American Women: Where They Stand.
Statistics show that in the past fifty years, the percentage of African American women between 25-54 who have never been married has doubled from 20% to 40%, compared to just 16% of white women.
Even with those startling findings, what I love about the film is that it does not portray single women as victims of spinsterhood; the women featured in the film are thriving, successful contributors to society that have achieved much in their lives- in spite of their single status.
Andrea wants the single gals of TWHS to see for themselves; she is gifting a lucky registrant who has an active Gift Registry with a copy of the DVD. A winner will be selected December 7th, so create yours today!
